Ahmedabad : Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited his home state and spoke at the Golden Jubilee celebration of the Amul Federation, known as the Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF), at the Narendra Modi Stadium. He reiterated his government’s dedication to empowering farmers and cattle rearers in his address, detailing several programmes and emphasising ambitious objectives for the dairy industry.

The Prime Minister declared a specific fund of Rs. 30,000 crore for cow rearers, highlighting their crucial contribution to the dairy sector. He recognised the huge impact of “mothers and sisters” in the business, which is responsible for a remarkable turnover of Rs. 10 lakh billion.

The Prime Minister discussed plans to establish more than 60,000 “Amrut Lakes” for irrigation, facilitate farmers’ access to modern technologies via “Kisan Samriddhi Kendras,” and provide solar pumps to improve sustainability.

PM Modi declared a decrease in livestock insurance costs to enhance animal health and provide financial protection to farmers.

PM Modi emphasised the government’s commitment to strengthening milch cattle via the National Gokul Mission, which aims to protect and improve indigenous breeds.

The Prime Minister came at the stadium in an open vehicle with Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and Gujarat BJP Chief CR Paatil, greeting farmers and recognising their presence. A diverse audience from different regions of the state gathered at the location, displaying their excitement.

PM Modi reiterated Mahatma Gandhi’s statement that the essence of India is found in the countryside. He stressed his government’s dedication to rural development, with a focus on the welfare of farmers and livestock.

PM Modi introduced a new programme under the National Live Mission to protect indigenous species, emphasising the significance of biodiversity in the field.
