Vadodara, Gujarat — Panic gripped Vadodara city once again within a fortnight after yet another school received a bomb threat via email on Friday morning. The incident occured at Cygnus School in the Harni area, which received a bomb threat via email on Friday morning. This marks the third such incident in just 12 days, putting the city’s security agencies on high alert mode.

Senior police officials from the Vadodara police, along with bomb disposal squad and dog squad, rushed to the school premises on Friday morning. After searching the entire school for more than two to three hours, no explosive material was found, but the fear and anxiety among students, parents and school staff was palpable.

“This is the third school targeted in less than two weeks. We are treating every threat with utmost seriousness and are working to trace the origin of these emails. No child should feel unsafe while attending school,” said a senior police officer involved in the operation.

The police have confirmed that a full-scale cyber investigation is underway to identify the individual or group behind these repeated threats. The threatening emails are reportedly being sent in the name of “Umar Farooq”—a name that also surfaced during earlier incidents targeting Navrachana School and Refinery CBSE School.

Earlier this week, Navrachana school in Sama had to be evacuated and searched for over three hours after receiving a similar bomb threat. No suspicious items were found, but the psychological impact on students and parents has been significant. Notably, the same school had received a similar threat back in January this year.

The very next day, another email was sent to Refinery CBSE School in Vadodara, claiming that a bomb had been planted on the premises. Once again, emergency response teams carried out a meticulous investigation but found no explosive devices.

Parents across Vadodara are now expressing serious concerns about the safety of their children. “This is the third time this has happened. It’s not just a prank—it’s a terror tactic. My child is afraid to go to school,” said a worried parent whose child studies at Navrachana School.
