Rajkot, Gujarat — Four Pakistani nationals, including a minor, have been apprehended from Rajkot district on charges of illegally residing in India for more than two decades. The arrests were made by the Rajkot Rural Local Crime Branch (LCB) team, highlighting a significant breach of immigration laws.
Following stringent directives from the state government to combat illegal infiltration, the Rajkot district police, under the guidance of Rajkot Range IG Ashok Kumar Yadav and District Police Chief Himkar Singh, intensified efforts to investigate such cases across various localities. Acting on specific intelligence, the Rajkot Rural LCB team conducted a targeted operation in Lodhika taluka, where they discovered the presence of the Pakistani nationals.
Upon arrival at the location, the police encountered a family lacking valid Indian identification documents such as voter ID cards or Aadhaar cards. Subsequent questioning revealed that they were Pakistani nationals who had entered Rajkot from Pakistan approximately one and a half to two decades ago.
The revelation of their prolonged illegal residence prompted the immediate detention of the individuals, including a minor, by the police. Senior officers are currently overseeing intensive interrogations to ascertain further details about their activities and networks during their extended stay in India.
