Surat, Gujarat – NTPC Kawas, under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, organized the closing ceremony of a free eye care camp on 14th May 2025 at its Arogyam Hospital. The camp, which began on 12th April 2025, aimed to conduct the free operation of 100 cataract-affected eyes for residents of project-affected villages.

The cataract surgeries, including lens implantation using advanced equipment, were conducted at Eye-Q Hospital in Surat in collaboration with NTPC Kawas.

Speaking at the closing ceremony, Chief Guest and Head of Project,  Suresh John David, commended the doctors and staff of Eye-Q Hospital for their dedicated support in making the camp a success. He remarked that such initiatives strengthen NTPC Kawas’ ongoing commitment to social welfare.

A review of the cataract surgery project was presented by the medical team of Arogyam Hospital under the leadership of Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Premlata Kurkanji. Additionally, spectacles for vision correction were distributed to the beneficiaries.

On this occasion, members of the Swati Mahila Mandal, led by its President  Shanija M. George, also distributed comforters to the beneficiaries as a thoughtful gesture.

The event was attended by  Sanjay Kumar Mittal, Additional General Manager (Operations & Maintenance), Sanjit Kumar Minz, Additional General Manager (Human Resources), along with other senior officials and staff members.
