New Delhi — In a dramatic twist shaking India’s political corridors, Hiren Joshi—the shadowy mastermind behind PM Modi’s digital empire and one of the most powerful figures in the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO)—has been located after days of intense speculation about his sudden disappearance.
Rumors swirled of a quiet ouster, foreign escapes, and deep ties to the explosive Mahadev Online Betting App scandal, which allegedly funneled billions through hawala and crypto networks right up to the PMO’s doorstep.
Congress spokesperson Pawan Khera dropped bombshells, demanding answers on Joshi’s mysterious business partners, overseas meetings (including in the US), and his role in “throttling democracy” via media manipulation. Coinciding with Prasar Bharati Chairman Navneet Sehgal’s abrupt resignation, this could unravel the biggest power games in Delhi. Is this the end of an era for Modi’s inner circle, or just the tip of a massive iceberg?
According to Sheeetal P Singh, a senior journalist, three names have been trending on social media for the past 48 hours, but TV channels have remained completely silent, as if nothing had happened.
– Hiren Joshi (PMO), Hitesh Jain (Law Commission), Navneet Sehgal (Prasar Bharati). Why?
What is the Mahadev Betting App? This online betting app, operated from Dubai, has generated a turnover of over ₹50,000 crore in the last four years. An ED-CBI investigation revealed that its owners, Saurabh Chandrakar and Ravi Uppal, distributed money through hawala to politicians, police officers, and senior officials from Chhattisgarh to Goa and Dubai. They even sponsored the weddings of Bollywood celebrities for promotion. Now, the heat of the investigation has reached Delhi – and the biggest name that has emerged is that of PMO OSD Hiren Joshi!
Hiren Joshi (PMO OSD) – Modi’s closest aide, his “left hand” in media management since his Gujarat days. Viral documents and chats on social media claim Joshi received substantial sums from the owners of the Mahadev app in Dubai, receiving commissions for foreign deals, channel management, and narrative setting. To avoid arrest, he abruptly resigned, handing over his position to Ashwini Vaishnav and fleeing.
Hitesh Jain (Law Commission Member) – Appointed in April 2025, resigned by the end of October. Allegedly close to Joshi. Rumors on social media suggest an attempt to relax betting laws through the Law Commission. Bungalow vacated, belongings removed within a day!
Navneet Sehgal (Prasar Bharati Chairman) – Suddenly resigned on December 2nd, with one year remaining in his term. Fingers are also being pointed at Sehgal, a favorite of every Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, but it’s unclear what role he played in all this!
#MahadevBettingScam #HirenJoshi is trending on social media. People are asking, “If the person in the PMO was part of the betting mafia, what about the country’s security? Why is this a black market worth Rs 50,000 crore, and why are TV channels silent?”
The opposition has entered the fray – Pawan Khera said: “There should be a CBI investigation. Who is Hiren Joshi’s American partner? How much money did he receive?”
But all the country’s TV channels are silent because they have long been under Joshi’s “control”! Now you decide – is this a cleansing or a cleansing?
