Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], August 31: Mumbai Educational Trust (MET) has been honoured with the “Leading Multidisciplinary Education Group of the Year – Maharashtra” award at the India@2047 Leadership, Innovation & Global Power Summit & Awards, held at IIT Delhi on August 20, 2026. Smt. Vishakha Bhujbal received the award on behalf of MET from none other than Member of Parliament and noted author-diplomat Dr Shashi Tharoor, marking the institution’s continued recognition for excellence in delivering multidisciplinary education. Dr Shashi Tharoor, who graced the event as the Chief Guest and Keynote Speaker, addressed the audience on the urgency of aligning India’s institutions – educational, corporate, and governmental – with the country’s long-term global ambitions. MET’s recognition at this summit places the institution among organisations acknowledged for contributing meaningfully to this national conversation, reaffirming its leadership in delivering multidisciplinary, industry-aligned education across its League of Colleges. The award adds to MET’s growing list of accolades recognising its contribution to shaping industry-ready, future-focused education in Maharashtra and beyond. Hosted at IIT Delhi, one of the country’s premier institutions for science and technology, the summit served as a platform for cross-sector dialogue on the reforms, innovation, and institution-building required to position India among the world’s leading economies and knowledge powers over the next two decades. Discussions at the summit spanned emerging technology, education reform, entrepreneurship, and India’s evolving role in global diplomacy.
