Pune : The Sahara Desert’s “Marathon des Sables” is widely regarded as one of the world’s toughest ultramarathons. The “Marathon des Sables,” abbreviated “MDS,” is an ultramarathon that covers 250 km over the course of six days. Indian national Mahasweta Ghosh attended the gathering a few months ago. In retrospect, Ghosh says she was the first Indian to compete in the event.

Michelle Anil Kakade, a notable runner from Pune, claimed during a news conference today that Ghosh is making false claims since she participated in the race in 2010 as the first Indian.

Michelle Kakade has accomplished a great deal in the sport of running, including running for 6,000 km, which is recognised by the Guinness Book of World Records.

Speaking to the media at the Pune Union of Working Journalists, Michelle Kakade said that the ‘Marathon des Sables’ is one of the world’s most challenging ultra-marathons, and that she had competed in it in 2010. No Indian has ever participated in the competition before me. On the other hand, following me, another 9-10 persons from India had attended. So, Mahasweta Ghosh’s claim that she was the first Indian to participate is false.

I am really happy that Mahasweta Ghosh represented India in the Marathon des Sables. On the other hand, misleading the public, the press, or the government is never acceptable. She has been informed through Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram of her blunder, but she has blocked the comments and profiles of those who have begged her to fix it.
