Amreli : There was a heated confrontation at the Congress office in Amreli when Pratap Dudhat, former Savarkundla MLA and Amreli District Congress President, strongly criticised Nilesh Kumbhani and his supporters. The cancellation of Kumbhani’s nomination for the Surat Lok Sabha seat has sparked intense political controversy, with the Congress party being engulfed in allegations of betrayal and internal discord.

The political scenario in Amreli took a dramatic twist when Pratap Dudhat, the former Savarkundla MLA and Amreli District Congress President, launched a scathing attack on Nilesh Kumbhani and his supporters. The cancellation of Kumbhani’s nomination for the Surat Lok Sabha seat has caused chaos within the Congress party, allowing BJP’s Mukesh Dalal to secure an uncontested victory.

Pratap Dudhat expressed his strong disapproval of Kumbhani’s actions in a passionate speech, leaving no room for doubt about his feelings towards the perceived betrayal of the Congress party. “Kumbhani, who has betrayed Congress, will face severe consequences,” declared Dudhat, vowing to lead the charge against Kumbhani’s treachery. He strongly criticised Kumbhani for eroding the trust of both the Congress party and the electorate, labelling him as disloyal.

Dudhat sent a strong message to Kumbhani and his supporters, making it clear that they should not hide and should be prepared to face the consequences of their actions. “Hide wherever you please, under the guise of BJP.” Dudhat sternly warned that if Kumbhani were to appear, he would face the fierce anger of the people. This demonstrated Dudhat’s firm determination to ensure that Kumbhani is held responsible for his supposed act of betrayal.

The cancellation of Nilesh Kumbhani’s nomination has caused quite a stir in the political realm, resulting in a chain of dramatic events that unfolded thereafter. After Kumbhani and his alleged dummy candidate Suresh Padsala’s forms were invalidated, the withdrawal of eight minor party candidates and independents has resulted in BJP’s Mukesh Dalal becoming the uncontested candidate for the Surat Lok Sabha seat.

In the face of growing discontent among Congress members, party workers gathered outside Nilesh Kumbhani’s house to express their disapproval. Banners were displayed, conveying strong messages of betrayal and the erosion of democracy. Despite Kumbhani’s absence and a locked door, the protesters were met with a confrontation from the police and the subsequent detention of the Congress workers.
