The film’s poster, which was illuminated by a lamp, represents Nafisaa’s anguish and calls attention to the tragic events in Muzaffarpur.

According to Kumaar Neeraj, he was so moved by the story of the tragedy that he decided a film should be created on it after reading about it in the newspaper. Over the course of several years, I wrote the script, conducted extensive research, met the victims, internalised their anguish and suffering, and am now preparing to offer the film version of the story. Though the names of the characters have been changed, the movie was inspired by real events, and we have not taken any artistic liberties in depicting them or the events they were involved in. No cosmetics have been applied to the artist, and we have shown neither superficial charm nor sweet truth. I have presented the truth in all candour, notwithstanding the fact that it was difficult to have it censored.

I was warned by the film’s writer and director that working with such a sensitive topic was fraught with peril, yet I persisted nevertheless.
