Gandhinagar | Gujarat –— Following the recent reshuffle in the Gujarat Cabinet, where Minister of State for Home Harsh Sanghavi took oath as the Deputy Chief Minister, Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel has appointed Education Minister Jitu Vaghani and Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi as the new spokespersons of the Gujarat government.
The announcement marks a significant change in the government’s communication strategy, aiming for better coordination between ministries and the media. The two ministers will now be the official voices of the state government, addressing the press on policy decisions, cabinet updates, and developmental initiatives.
Earlier, Health Minister Rushikesh Patel served as the government spokesperson. However, following the cabinet reshuffle and redistribution of portfolios, the role has now been assigned to Vaghani and Sanghavi — both known for their strong administrative acumen and public connect.
Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel said the appointments were made to “enhance transparency and efficiency in the government’s public communication system.” He added, “Both Harsh Sanghavi and Jitu Vaghani have demonstrated leadership and commitment to public service. Their ability to connect with people and the media will help ensure the government’s message reaches citizens clearly and effectively.”
Expressing gratitude, Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi said, “I am thankful to the Chief Minister for this responsibility. We will work to ensure that every key government decision is communicated accurately and in the best interest of Gujarat’s citizens.”
Education Minister Jitu Vaghani echoed this sentiment, stating, “This is an opportunity to represent the progress and vision of Gujarat under Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel’s leadership. Our goal will be to maintain openness and continuous communication with the public.”
The newly appointed spokespersons will brief the media after cabinet meetings and during key policy announcements, serving as the primary link between the government and the public. The move is seen as part of the Patel government’s ongoing effort to strengthen transparency and proactive governance in Gujarat.
