India’s Well-Known Wealth Manager Ankit Yadav Marks 10 Years of 15 August Financial Freedom Event; Calls for Financial Education, IPO Transparency and Tax Reforms

New Delhi [India], August 19: Wealth Manager Ankit Yadav, Director of Market Maestroo, addressed investors at the annual 15 August Financial Freedom Event, continuing a tradition that began around a decade ago. The Independence Day programme has grown into a major digital gathering for the Market Maestroo investor community, with lakhs of investors joining across different editions over the years. The event is organised completely free of cost every year and focuses on financial education, value investing, market outlook, IPOs, taxation, wealth creation and long-term investing. For Ankit Yadav and the Market Maestroo community, 15 August represents two ideas together—India’s independence and the financial independence of Indian families. The message of this year’s event remained simple: “Ab Financial Independent Banega India.”

Who is Wealth Manager Ankit Yadav?

Ankit Yadav is the Director of Market Maestroo and is associated with its SEBI-registered Research Analyst operations. He has built a significant following among stock-market investors through digital and social-media platforms and is particularly known among his audience for value investing, fundamental research, intrinsic-value calculations and IPO analysis. Over the years, Ankit Yadav has focused heavily on explaining investing in simple language so that retail investors can understand businesses and valuations rather than depend entirely on market tips. In his 15 August address, Ankit Yadav said that he has been connected with the stock market for more than two decades and has witnessed several major market cycles. The annual 15 August programme itself has now completed around a decade. Market Maestroo also undertakes social-welfare activities through its foundation, combining its financial-education mission with initiatives aimed at giving back to society.

Financial Education Should Become a National Priority

One of the biggest messages from Wealth Manager Ankit Yadav this year was the need for financial education across India. Ankit Yadav said financial literacy should be treated as one of the country’s most important priorities. His argument is straightforward: if people become financially educated, they can create stronger financial foundations for their families. This can eventually help them afford better healthcare, better education and a better quality of life without remaining completely dependent on others. According to Ankit Yadav, financial education is not about simply knowing which stock to buy. Investors should learn how to save, understand valuations, manage risk, identify good businesses and remain invested for the long term. During the event, he repeatedly explained valuation calculations and encouraged investors to understand why they are investing rather than blindly following recommendations.

Indian Equities at Rare Valuations, Says Ankit Yadav

Another important highlight was Wealth Manager Ankit Yadav’s outlook on Indian equities. According to Ankit Yadav, parts of the Indian equity market currently appear to be trading at some of their most attractive valuation levels of the last 10–15 years, based on valuation measures he follows. During the programme, Ankit Yadav discussed Nifty valuations, earnings yield and the importance of buying when valuations become attractive rather than chasing markets after prices have already risen sharply. Ankit Yadav expects Indian equities to have the capacity to generate around 12–15% annualised returns over the coming decade, subject to economic growth, corporate earnings, valuations, interest rates, taxation and market conditions. This represents his long-term expectation and not a guaranteed return. He also believes that if taxation on equities is rationalised, Indian markets could attract stronger long-term participation and the Sensex and Nifty could potentially reach new levels in the years ahead.

Ankit Yadav Seeks Greater Transparency in IPO Allotments

IPO allotment was another important subject discussed during the event. Ankit Yadav called for greater transparency in India’s IPO allotment process, particularly as retail participation in major public issues continues to increase. He suggested that IPO registrars could consider publishing downloadable allotment data with sensitive information appropriately masked. For example, only limited digits of PAN details could be displayed so investors can verify allotment data without exposing complete personal information. Ankit Yadav said such a system could improve investor confidence and make the IPO allotment process easier for the public to understand. He also indicated that he intends to put this suggestion before relevant exchanges, regulators and registrars.

Call for Equity Tax Reforms

Taxation was another key issue raised by Wealth Manager Ankit Yadav. Ankit Yadav believes taxation on equity investing needs to be rationalised if India wants to encourage more people to become long-term investors. Among his proposals, he called for the removal of LTCG tax on listed equities and reconsideration of stamp duty on equity transactions. These are policy suggestions made by Ankit Yadav and not announced changes in government policy. According to him, lower and simpler taxation could encourage household savings to move towards productive investments and help strengthen India’s long-term investment culture.

A Free Financial Event for the Investor Community

One thing that has remained unchanged throughout the journey is that the 15 August event is completely free. For around 10 years, investors have joined the annual programme to understand markets, value investing, IPOs, taxation, sectors and wealth-creation principles. The event script itself traces the annual tradition from 2017 to 2026 and recalls the investment discussions held during previous editions. Ankit Yadav also uses the Independence Day platform each year to make special announcements for the investor community. This year, financial education and improving investor awareness remained at the heart of the programme.

Was This Wealth Manager Ankit Yadav’s Last 15 August AGM?

The 2026 event also ended with an important question about the future. There has been discussion around Ankit Yadav taking on larger international and academic responsibilities, including work associated with Oxford. This has created speculation that the 2026 edition could be his final annual 15 August investor gathering in its present format. There is, however, no final official confirmation that the annual event has permanently ended. If it does prove to be the conclusion of this 10-year journey, Ankit Yadav’s message to investors remains clear: India’s next financial revolution will not come from simply finding the next successful stock—it will come from creating financially educated Indian families. “Political independence made India free. Financial education can make Indian families financially independent.” Ab Financial Independent Banega India. Disclaimer: The views expressed above are solely those of the author.
