New Delhi : One in ten Indian students has the career goal of becoming a doctor, making medicine one of the most popular and sought-after majors. These students come to medicine with a deep commitment to helping others, making medicine a popular choice among thousands of Indian students. More than 18 lakh students tried their luck in the NEET exam this year, hoping to launch their careers in medicine. However, only roughly 56 percent of those who took the test were successful.

With somewhat less than one million MBBS seats in India, attending medical school there is out of reach for the vast majority of students. There is a lot of competition, few openings at government medical schools where tuition is extremely low, and many qualified students just can’t afford to attend private medical schools. Many less privileged students in India, where medical school enrollment is competitive and tuition is high, look outside the country for a chance to fulfil their lifelong ambition of becoming medical doctors.

Every year, thousands of aspiring doctors from India move to other countries for their medical education as they fail to get any opportunity in their home country. After thoughtful deliberation and a strong motive of not give up on their dreams, they fly to unknown countries with big dreams in their eyes. Russia has always topped the list of countries to study MBBS abroad for Indian students with the strong presence of globally-recognized medical universities where quality medical education meets their budgeted funds. The country has always been home to thousands of Indian students before and is still growing to be a top destination for medical studies for medical aspirants from India. The state-of-the-art infrastructure, well-equipped laboratories, advanced classrooms, comfortable hostel facilities, highly qualified faculty, the latest tools and equipment for practicals, sports facilities, affordable fee structure, and collaboration with the best hospitals for clinical training of students makes MBBS in Russia a top choice for Indian students.

Rus Education, an overseas medical education facilitator in India, has been transforming the dreams of Indian medical aspirants into a reality for the last 30 years. The organization dedicatedly works to help Indian students who have not given up on their dreams and still want to become successful doctors even if they fail to procure admissions in India. With tie-ups with the top Government recognized medical universities in Russia, Rus Education is driven to provide the best medical education opportunities to Indian students at affordable fees. The expert counselors offer personalized counseling and guidance to aspiring doctors and help them choose the right medical university in Russia. Apart from the admission-related assistance in Russian medical universities, Rus Education also takes care of the pre-departure formalities of the students, such as visa and travel arrangements, education loan assistance, documentation, forex requirements, etc. Moreover, the representatives of Rus Education will be present at Russian medical universities to provide real-time assistance to students in a foreign land.

Prof. S. K Washim, Founder and Chairman of Rus Education, established Rus Education to make medical education happen for Indian students who have the aptitude, attitude, and passion for becoming a doctor. In a one-to-one conversation with him about his motive behind founding this organization, he said, “Medical profession is the most coveted and respected profession in India. The struggles of medical aspirants during MBBS admissions in India made me come up with the idea of establishing Rus Education with a view to facilitating their medical journey in Russia, one of the most preferred destinations for medical aspirants. The organization opens the gateway of overseas medical education for aspiring doctors in India and helps them pursue their dream careers in the beautiful country of Russia. Now, even if students have only passed NEET scores, they can still pursue MBBS courses in Russia and become good doctors.”

Air Marshal (Dr) Pawan Kapoor, Vice-Chairman of Rus Education, also shared his valuable thoughts on the objectives of the organization. “Rus Education is committed to building a strong base of Russian medical education in India with the support of the Russian House in New Delhi. Indian medical aspirants can now pursue a medical degree in Government recognized, renowned medical universities in Russia with the help of Rus Education and become world-class doctors in six years. Our partnered medical universities in Russia are well-known for offering high-standard medical education at economical tuition fees to their students. These Universities are also listed with and certified by global statutory bodies. We at Rus Education understand the value of the medical degree and, therefore, collaborate with those medical institutions that share the same passion for medical education and that provide all opportunities to build the necessary skills and competencies in the students that would be required by them to become future competent, confident and successful doctors.”

Rus Education dedicatedly works with the universities at the ground zero level to bring up excellent infrastructure to ensure the comfortable stay of Indian students in Russia. Right from arranging comfortable hostel accommodations to setting up Indian mess for Indian students, Rus Education goes the extra mile to make Indian students feel at home away from home in Russia. Moreover, special FMGE/ the proposed National Exit Test (NExT) based coaching classes by professional Indian doctors and lecturers are arranged by the team of Rus Education for Indian students at Russian medical universities to help them prepare for the medical licensing exam.

Recently, Rus Education, with the unstinting support of top medical universities of Russia, i.e., Mari State University, Perm State Medical University, and Orenburg State Medical University, came forward to support Ukraine returned medical students to help them continue their medical studies in these universities and fulfill their dreams of becoming doctors. The procedure for MBBS admission in Russia for medical students from Ukraine is made hassle-free with their online transcripts, and they can submit their original documents at later stages. So far, more than 500 transfer students from Ukraine have been accommodated in these universities, and more such batches will leave for Russia soon. Rus Education makes efforts to ensure that, as far as possible, these students do not undergo any academic losses during transfer and that medical education is offered to them seamlessly and at a flexible and payable fee structure.

When the COVID-19 pandemic struck the world in 2020 and the world came to a standstill, Rus Education went all the way to arrange special online classes for the students with the help of Russian medical universities so that they don’t miss their crucial period of academics. The dedication with which the education facilitator worked for the medical students in those challenging times was indeed laudable.

With a strong aim to promote Russian medical education in India, Rus Education organizes the Russian Education Fair every year for aspiring doctors in India, bringing together 25+ top Russian universities under one roof. Aspiring medical students can get firsthand authentic university information from the delegates directly and wisely choose the right university for their education in Russia. Apart from this event, admission guidance seminars and expos are also organized by Rus Education in different cities of India to offer opportunities to Indian students to study MBBS in Russia.

Got an MBBS admission in Russia! Rus Education believes it to be an achievement and celebrates the happiness and success of Indian medical aspirants going for MBBS in Russia at a special pre-departure ceremony, Sobraniye. The grand event witnesses the warm presence of elite personalities from various spheres of professions who share their personal experiences and congratulate the invited students and their parents on their accomplishments. Very recently, Rus Education organized Sobraniye on 27th September 2022 for over 350 Indian students, including Ukraine returned medical students. The team of Rus Education personally bid adieu to the departing students at the airport and wished them good luck for their MBBS journey ahead.

Rus Education has so far supported approximately 15000 medical aspirants to achieve their dreams, many of whom are practicing in different healthcare institutions in India and several countries like Russia, the USA, the UK, Australia, etc. Rus Education is committed to continuing its efforts to facilitate medical education in Russia in an open, transparent, and objective manner.
