Gujarat’s First Dog Crematorium to Be Built in Ahmedabad

Ahmedabad, Gujarat : Gujarat’s first dog crematorium is set to be established at Karuna Mandir in the Danilimda area of Ahmedabad city, marking a significant development for the region.  The Municipal Corporation is set to construct a CNG dog crematorium with an investment of Rs. 30 lakh.  The cremation of dogs that pass away in the city will take place here.  This crematorium features a CNG furnace, allowing for the cremation of two dogs simultaneously.  Residents wishing to cremate their deceased pet dogs will have the option to do so locally, with fees to be determined in the near future.

The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation has initiated the process of registering pet dogs.  The city is home to around 50,000 pet dogs.  A total of 5,500 pet dogs have been officially registered with AMC to date.  In addition to this, there is a significant presence of street dogs.

Sources from the CNCD department indicate that discussions regarding the establishment of a crematorium for dogs in the city have been ongoing for two years.  A dog crematorium is set to be constructed near Gyaspur, located away from the city.  Despite discussions, a decision regarding the construction of a dog crematorium has yet to be made.  Recently, Municipal Commissioner Banchanidhi Pani provided directives concerning the establishment of a dog crematorium.  A decision has been made to construct a dog crematorium at the Karuna Mandir in Danilimda, where a dog rehabilitation center has already been established.

A project has commenced to construct a dog crematorium featuring a CNG furnace, and a tender has been released for this initiative.  A crematorium for dogs is set to be constructed with an investment of Rs 30 lakh.  A cutting-edge CNG furnace machine is set to be constructed.  A new cremation machine capable of handling 80 kg is set to be constructed.  Two dogs can be cremated simultaneously.  People hold a deep fondness for their canine companions.  When a pet dog is treated as a cherished family member, arrangements will be made to ensure its cremation is conducted with the utmost respect.

In an interview with a prominent local publication, Mirant Parikh, Deputy Municipal Commissioner of the CNCD Department, announced the upcoming construction of Gujarat’s first dog crematorium featuring a CNG gas furnace, set to be located at Karuna Mandir in Danilimda.  The dog crematorium constructed with a CNG furnace offers significant advantages both environmentally and scientifically.  The upcoming days will determine the charges, allowing those who have lost their beloved pet dogs to proceed with the final rites.

The Municipal Corporation is inundated with daily complaints regarding the disposal of around 40 to 50 deceased animals.  This involves around 8 to 10 dogs.  The Corporation has taken steps to guarantee that animals are cremated with dignity, leading to the establishment of a dog crematorium.

The Municipal Corporation ensures that any animal that passes away within the city is handled and disposed of appropriately.  Residents who come across a deceased animal in the city are encouraged to reach out to the Municipal Corporation by dialing the complaint number 155303 to report the situation for proper disposal.  The team responsible for animal disposal by the Municipal Corporation promptly removes deceased animals from the location and ensures they are disposed of appropriately.
