Ahmedabad : Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated and laid foundation stones for the development projects worth Rs 5,950 crore during his two day visit in Gujarat on October 30 and 31. The visit is also significant in the context of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in 2024, with political pundits in Gujarat seeing it as a launchpad for the BJP’s campaign.

On the first day of his visit, PM Modi  offered prayers at the Ambaji temple in Banaskantha district and inaugurated various development projects in Mehsana district. On the second day, he visited visited the Statue of Unity in Narmada district and participate in the Rashtriya Ekta Diwas celebrations.

PM Modi flagged off the inaugural run of the Steam Heritage Special Train between Ekta Nagar (Kevadia) & Ahmedabad on 31st October, 2023 through video link from Ekta Nagar (Kevadiya) on the occasion of National Unity Day. This train is a befitting tribute to the great son of our country, the Iron Man of India – Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.

PM Modi’s visit to Gujarat is seen as an opportunity for the BJP to showcase its development agenda and connect with the people ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. The party is confident that the Prime Minister’s visit will boost its morale and galvanize its cadres.
