Mehsana : The Airport Authority of India (AAI) has initiated the process of setting up an airport in Vadnagar, a birthplace of PM Modi Modi.  An AAI team will be visiting Vadnagar on Wednesday to conduct a feasibility report for the project.

IR Vala,  Mehsana District Collector has issued a circular requesting villagers of Gunja, Vadnagar, and Chandpur to be present during the AAI team’s visit. The circular also states that the 159 land survey numbers belonging to these villagers will be acquired for the airport development.

The AAI team will be meeting with villagers and local authorities to assess the feasibility of constructing an airport in Vadnagar. They will also be evaluating the availability of land and the potential impact of the project on the surrounding environment.

The proposed airport is expected to boost tourism and economic activity in Vadnagar and the surrounding areas. It will also provide better connectivity for the region.

Vadnagar: A Historic Town with Prime Ministerial Ties

Vadnagar is a historic town located in Mehsana district. It is the birthplace of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who has a strong connection to the town.

During his tenure as Chief Minister of Gujarat, Modi initiated several development projects in Vadnagar, including the beautification of the town and the construction of a helipad.

In the run-up to the 2017 state assembly elections, Modi announced that Vadnagar would be developed as a tourist destination. The town is home to several historical landmarks, including two magnificent glory gates, Paschim Mehtani Vav (stepwell), Zunzunia well, and Sharmistha Lake.

The Potential of an Airport in Vadnagar

An airport in Vadnagar would have several benefits for the town and the surrounding region. It would make it easier for tourists to visit the town and would also boost economic activity.

The airport would also provide better connectivity for the region, making it easier for people to travel to and from Vadnagar.

The AAI team’s visit to Vadnagar is a positive step towards the development of an airport in the town. The feasibility report will provide valuable insights into the potential of the project and its impact on the region.
