Gujarat : Two Dead, Eight Injured in Accident at Modasa

Kapadvanj, Gujarat – A devastating triple-vehicle collision involving a State Transport (ST) bus, a truck, and a dumper has claimed the lives of two individuals and left at least eight others injured near the Pankhiya intersection on the Kapadvanj-Modasa road this Monday. The impact was so severe that the front of the ST bus was completely mangled, painting a grim picture of the intensity of the crash.

The tragic incident unfolded on the Kapadvanj-Modasa State Highway, sending shockwaves through the local community. The ST bus, reportedly en route from Bayad to Kapadvanj, was caught in the multi-vehicle pile-up. “It was chaos. The sound of the collision was deafening,” recounted a shaken bystander who witnessed the aftermath. “People were screaming, and the vehicles looked like they had exploded.”

The immediate aftermath saw desperate efforts to assist the victims. Two individuals – the ST bus conductor, identified as Sanjaysinh Arjunsinh (52) from Abliyapura, Kapadvanj, and a passenger, Amarsinh Parmar (70) from Sunda, Kapadvanj – succumbed to their injuries on the spot. Their sudden loss has deeply saddened their families and the wider community.

“I heard the sirens and rushed over. It was a horrific sight,” said a local resident, visibly distressed. “My heart goes out to the families of those who lost their lives. This road is usually busy, and such accidents are truly terrifying.”

Emergency services, including 108 ambulances, swiftly arrived at the scene. All eight injured individuals were immediately transported to the government hospital in Kapadvanj for urgent medical attention. Their conditions are currently being monitored.

Following the accident, local authorities, including the Mamlatdar and Kapadvanj Rural Police, quickly reached the spot to manage the situation and initiate investigations. PI A.R. Chaudhary of Kapadvanj village confirmed the fatalities and injuries. “Two people have died in this accident, and more than eight others are injured and receiving treatment at Kapadvanj Community Health Center,” he stated. “The process of registering a crime in this matter is currently underway.”

The police are also working to gather further details and understand the exact sequence of events that led to this catastrophic triple collision. The focus remains on providing support to the victims and their families, while also ensuring a thorough investigation to prevent future tragedies on this busy highway.
