Gandhinagar : Thousands of citizens across the state are facing a bureaucratic nightmare as State Transport Offices (RTOs) have been crippled by a severe downtime for the past three days. This technical glitch has brought driving tests to a halt, stalled other RTO operations, and left frustrated applicants in long queues with growing uncertainty.

“I’ve been waiting here for hours to get my learner’s license renewed,” said Akash Patel, a visibly irritated applicant at the Ahmedabad RTO. “Nobody seems to know when the system will be back online, and my test was scheduled for today. This is a complete mess.”

The issue began a few days ago, affecting all RTOs in the state. On Sunday, officials verbally informed applicants that the outage would continue into Monday, leaving those with scheduled driving tests in limbo. This lack of clear communication has added to the frustration.

“The RTO should have sent out official notices,” said Riya Shah, another applicant at the Surat RTO. “We wouldn’t be wasting our time here if we knew the tests were cancelled.”

Estimates suggest that roughly 30,000 individuals have been directly impacted by the server glitch. Scenes of long queues and overflowing RTO complexes paint a picture of widespread disruption. The situation has caused significant inconvenience, with many applicants worried their scheduled appointments will be further delayed.

“This is absolutely unacceptable,” said Rasesh Mehta, a driving instructor. “My students have been preparing for their tests, and now they’re left hanging. We need the RTO to fix this problem immediately and communicate a clear timeline for its resolution.”

With 37 RTO offices reportedly experiencing the outage for a staggering 72 hours, the demand for immediate action and a transparent update grows louder. Citizens are hoping for a swift resolution to minimize further disruption to their driving license applications and driving tests.

While the exact cause of the server failure remains unknown, it’s clear that the RTO is facing a significant challenge that requires immediate attention to restore normalcy and regain public trust.
