Vadodara : Vadodara police have registered a complaint against 25 people for rioting after a clash erupted between two groups over a religious event in Ekta Nagar’s Marathi Mohalla on Wednesday evening. Several people were injured in the incident.

The dispute began when a group played Hanuman Chalisa on loudspeakers in Marathi Mohalla. Sources said members of another community objected to the volume, triggering stone-pelting and violence.

Upon receiving emergency calls, police rushed to the scene and brought the situation under control. The area was combed to ensure no further trouble. Three individuals have been apprehended so far, with one requiring treatment at a private hospital. Others are being questioned, and detentions are likely after further investigation.

Those injured were taken to Sayaji Hospital for medical attention. The Bapod police have lodged a case against the 25 accused under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) including rioting (147), unlawful assembly (143), offense relating to religion (149), obscenity (294(b)), and assault (323).
