The Parapipaliya hamlet on the Jamnagar highway is home to the long-awaited Rajkot AIIMS project, which is set to become a shining example of Gujarat’s cutting-edge healthcare framework. The institution is reaching a major milestone in its quest to provide complete healthcare when, on February 26, the IPD department will begin operations, after two years of service in the Outpatient Department (OPD).

An example of the government’s dedication to improving healthcare accessibility and quality is the 250-bed IPD department, which is set to be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on February 25. As an indication of its creative approach to healthcare delivery, Rajkot AIIMS joins Bhubaneswar as one of only two AIIMS facilities in the country to be accepted for the revolutionary container hospital experiment.

Patients in Saurashtra and the surrounding regions may anticipate a wide range of treatment choices, including access to over fifteen specialty therapies, with the introduction of IPD services. On top of that, in the near future, plans are in the works to gradually introduce a total of 23 therapies, including multispecialty care, to meet the varied medical requirements of the area.

The infrastructure of Rajkot AIIMS showcases a holistic approach to healthcare, with cutting-edge amenities placed to maximise patient well-being. Two operating rooms for orthopaedics, dentistry, gynaecology, and otolaryngology are located next to the intensive care unit, demonstrating the facility’s dedication to comprehensive treatment. In order to provide patients with quick diagnostic capabilities, the emergency ward is complemented with additional facilities including sonography, X-ray, and MRI services.

The AIIMS administration emphasises the institution’s special selling point as one of the chosen locations to test out mobile hospitals, a valuable tool for dealing with epidemics and other sudden medical crises. These mobile units provide accessibility and agility in crisis circumstances with their basic medical infrastructure, which includes a mini-operatory, oxygen beds, and medical supplies.

In addition, the upcoming establishment of a Bio-safety Level (BSL) lab further demonstrates the dedication to superior medical research and diagnostics at Rajkot AIIMS. The BSL lab is a major step towards improving Gujarat’s healthcare system, and it is expected to start operations shortly following permission.

Recruitment activities are already ongoing to enhance the medical personnel at Rajkot AIIMS as it continues on its quest to deliver super-specialist services. Plans are in the works to add to the team’s already impressive roster of super-specialist doctors, guaranteeing that we can meet the demands of our varied patient population with ease.
