Bhavnagar | Gujarat — In a high-profile visit set to draw thousands, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will arrive in Bhavnagar district on September 20 for a mega public meeting, a road show, and the inauguration and foundation stone laying of multiple development projects. This will be Modi’s second visit to Gujarat within a month, underscoring the state’s importance in the Centre’s development vision.
Grand Public Meeting at Jawahar Maidan
The Prime Minister’s public meeting will take place at Jawahar Maidan, where he is expected to unveil new initiatives and address policies linked to ports and shipping. The program is being organized jointly by the Ministry of Shipping, Gujarat Maritime Board, and the district administration. According to officials, several important MoUs related to infrastructure and maritime development will also be discussed during the event.
District Collector Dr. Manish Kumar Bansal, who chaired a high-level planning meeting, said,“Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit will mark a historic day for Bhavnagar. Along with his public address, the foundation stone laying and inauguration of key projects will further strengthen the district’s development journey.”
Preparations in Full Swing
The district administration has swung into action with roadworks and beautification projects already underway on a war footing. Sources indicate that though an official announcement was made only recently, preparatory work had been quietly in motion over the past few days.
“The administration, corporation, and ruling party leaders are leaving no stone unturned to ensure smooth execution of the Prime Minister’s program,” a senior official noted.
27 Committees Formed for Smooth Execution
To ensure flawless planning, the administration has constituted 27 different committees under Class I officers, including a Core Committee that will coordinate every aspect of the Prime Minister’s visit. These committees will oversee security, logistics, public mobilization, and event management.
The planning meeting saw the presence of prominent leaders including MLA Jitubhai Vaghani, Mayor Bharatbhai Barad, BJP President Digvijay Singh Gohil, Municipal Commissioner N.K. Meena, Regional Commissioner Dhaval Pandya, SP Nitesh Pandey, and other top district officials.
Recent Visit Highlights Gujarat’s Development Push
Just 17 days ago, Modi launched the first made-in-India electric car, Maruti e-Vitara, at Maruti Suzuki’s Hansalpur plant, while also inaugurating a new battery plant. The launch marked a milestone for India’s electric mobility sector, with the car slated for export to over 100 countries, including Japan.
With his upcoming Bhavnagar visit, the Prime Minister is set to reinforce Gujarat’s position as a hub of innovation, maritime growth, and industrial progress.
As one political observer remarked,“Every visit of the Prime Minister to Gujarat brings a mix of development announcements and political momentum. Bhavnagar will see both on September 20.”
