Gujarat : NFSU Wins Prestigious DSCI 2023 Excellence Award

DSCI instituted Excellence Awards in 2011 for corporate and LEAs. In addition to existing two categories of LEA awards, “India Cyber Cop Award & Award for Excellence in Capacity Building of Police Agencies”, last year, Data Security Council of India (DSCI) has introduced a new category, “Award for Excellence in Capacity Building in Cybercrimes, Cyber laws & Digital Forensics by Academia”.

Gandhinagar : The National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU), Gandhinagar, Gujarat has been awarded the prestigious DSCI 2023 award in the category –  “Award for Excellence in Capacity Building in Cybercrimes, Cyber Laws & Digital Forensics by Academia”.

In addition to existing two categories of LEA awards, “India Cyber Cop Award & Award for Excellence in Capacity Building of Police Agencies”, last year, Data Security Council of India (DSCI) has introduced a new category, “Award for Excellence in Capacity Building in Cybercrimes, Cyber laws & Digital Forensics by Academia”.

National Forensic Sciences University is the only University in the world which has been mandated under CrPC 293 and Section 79A of the IT Act 2000 to investigate the cases and report it in the court of law.

The institution has built cutting edge capabilities in the field of Cyber-Crime, Cyber-Law and Digital Forensics and contributed effectively in the forensic capacity building of the nation.

A four-member jury comprising of Mr. Pratap Reddy, IPS, Commissioner of Police, Bengaluru City, Karnataka, Mr. Vakul Sharma, Advocate, Supreme Court, Mr. S. K. Bhalla, Deputy Director General, Telecom Security, NTIPRIT and Mr. Krishna Sastry Pendyala, Partner at Ernst & Young (Former Scientist, GEQD) were part of the panel that adjudged National Forensic Sciences University as the best University in the category of “Award for Excellence in Capacity Building in Cybercrimes, Cyber laws & Digital Forensics by Academia”.

Padma Shri Awardee, Dr J.M. Vyas, Vice Chancellor of NFSU said, “this award is a recognition of world class capabilities that NFSU has built in the field of Cyber-Crime investigations and large number of initiatives that have been taken at the University towards criminal Justice delivery system strengthening in India”.
