Navsari District Police Chief Sushil Agarwal told the media that an argument regarding parking took place on Dargah Road, following which many people gathered at the location. Next day, an FIR was filed, and six accused were booked, with four of them being arrested. Later that night, a Ram Dhun program was held at a temple, after which additional police were deployed to handle the incident. The senior police official also urged citizens to remain calm, confirming that the police have taken action against those responsible for the altercation on Dargah Road.

According to the details, on the night of December 7, Mayuriben and her husband Vimalbhai Patel were standing near their house in Sheikh Ni Gali on Dargah Road when Shah Nawaz, a resident of Azad Mohalla, approached on his bike and asked Vimal Patel to move his bike from the site. This led to a heated argument, during which Shah Nawaz insulted Patel and called his friends for support. Soon, around five of his friends arrived, hurling abuses, making threats to Vimalbhai and Mayuriben, and using casteist slurs. This caused tension between the two parties, and several posts on social media went viral, further escalating the situation.

Following the incident, Mayuriben and Vimalbhai Patel filed a complaint, leading to the arrest of the accused, Shah Nawaz Iqbal Sheikh and Rasidad Samad. Police teams have been formed to apprehend the other accused.

Later, on the night of December 8, a crowd of 200 people, supporting the Patel couple, arrived at the Navsari Town Police Station, demanding strict action against the accused. The crowd then gathered at Ram Mandir and held a Ramdhun. Meanwhile, another group of young people gathered on Dargah Road. As tensions rose, stone-pelting occurred, prompting the police to intervene and clear the area. An FIR has been filed against the mob of 200-300 people. The investigation is ongoing with the help of CCTV footage.
