Gujarat : Darshanam Papad from Surat Makes its Mark at Anant Ambani’s Pre-Wedding Celebration

Surat : The three-day pre-wedding celebration of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant in Jamnagar lived up to the proverb “Surat Nu Jaman, Ane Kashi Nu Maran” (Eat in Surat and die in Kashi) as the food scene took front stage. Among the notables who attended the lavish event were representatives from the Surat-based firm Darshanam Papad, whose distinctive creations are famous for their delicious papad variants.

A remarkable assortment of personalities were on the guest list, including Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg, and Gautam Adani, as well as Saif Ali Khan, Ananya Panday, Ranbir Kapoor, and Salman Khan from Bollywood. Darshanam Papad left an indelible mark on the guests by tantalising their taste buds with a range of papad recipes.

Taking part in the historic event was an honour for Nimesh Damania, owner of Darshanam Papad. “It was a privilege to be asked to the pre-wedding ceremony and to serve our delicious raw papad recipes to such esteemed guests,” he told in an interview. “We are thrilled that everyone, including prominent personalities, enjoyed our papad varieties.”

The son of Nimesh, Meet Damania, emphasised the event’s importance for Surat by echoing his father’s feelings. “We are incredibly proud to have represented Surat at this historic pre-wedding celebration,” according to him. “The appreciation we received from the guests for our papad offerings is truly overwhelming.”

Damania said that the presence of Darshanam Papad during the pre-wedding celebrations highlights both the culinary competence of the brand and the rich culinary tradition of Surat. The city’s distinctive flavours have been enjoyed by world-renowned people, establishing its place in India’s culinary scene.
