Ahmedabad : The new version of the classic Krishna bhajan, “Madhurashtakam,” was unveiled on the joyous festival of Janmashtami, presided over by the Chief Minister of Gujarat, Shri Bhupendrabhai Patel.

This musical masterwork will be the first to be performed under the Krishnamayam banner, an organisation established by Bhavesh Lakhani, a successful businessman in Ahmedabad and the son of former Gujarat Speaker Shri Shashikant Lakhani. Krishnamayam is an organisation that cares deeply about the future of music, the Sanskrit language, and the development of new musical ideas.

Notably, Amisha Lakhani thought up the imaginative notion behind this stunning interpretation. Her concept was beautifully realised by composer and Tarana Music Academy founder Harshbhai Patel. Bhagirath Bhatt, a world-famous sitar virtuoso, composed the beautiful music that accompanies this performance.

On September 6, 2023, with much fanfare and glory, the hypnotic ‘Madhurashtakam’ adaptation was released across multiple internet platforms. The birth of Lord Krishna, the heavenly inspiration for this ageless bhajan, is being celebrated on this day, making it a monumental event in the spiritual and musical arts.

This new musical endeavour was blessed by the presence of the acclaimed Chief Minister, who is recognised for his spiritual leanings. He praised the hard effort and devotion of the Krishnamayam team for creating this magnificent gift. Shri Bhupendrabhai Patel has sent his thanks to the people of Gujarat for their efforts to protect Sanskrit culture and foster creative ability.

Krishnamayam, led by Amisha Lakhani’s inspiring vision, is dedicated to creating a thriving environment for Gujarati music and culture. Krishnamayam hopes to become a beacon in the fields of music and spirituality by championing up-and-coming artists and displaying the diversity of our cultural heritage.

The holy songs that pay devotion to Lord Krishna are now accessible in an appealing version of ‘Madhurashtakam,’ which devotees and music aficionados may enjoy and immerse themselves in. Watch the video at https://youtu.be/d90QSKDfiAo?si=Gy4o3ScbJa1te2-b
