Gujarat CM felicitates Nimisha Parekh for her Mehndi Ramayan art

Surat : Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendrabhai Patel praised and appreciated renowned mehndi artist Nimisha Parekh for her creation of the Ramayana with mehndi and stated that it is a finest confluence of art and devotion.
The recreation of the Ramayana on the hands of 51 women of Surat using mehndi (henna) is once again in the spotlight.
Chief Minister Bhupendrabhai Patel said that the desire to bring diversity in art is what keeps the artist’s creativity alive and said that Nimisha Parekh has achieved inspirational success with her unique mehndi art. He noted that by combining mehndi art with Warli painting, Nimishaben has depicted the verses of Ramayan in mehndi on the hands of women, earning a place in the Asia Book of Records.
“This success of Nimishaben will undoubtedly be encouraging and inspirational for women who wish to advance through their artistic talents,” he said and extended his best wishes to the artist for her creativity and further advancement of her artistic journey.
Notably, the Ramayana made using mehndi found a place in the Asia Book of Records on April 22. Nimisha Parekh was awarded a certificate for her outstanding art.
Ahead of the consecration of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, the unique Ramayana was showcased at an event in Surat on January 16. It featured 51 events based on 51 verses on the Ramayana depicted using mehndi in Warli art on the hands of 51 women from Surat. This unique presentation received unprecedented admiration and appreciation both within the country and outside.
Nimisha Parekh said she was delighted to receive the invitation to meet Chief Minister Bhupendrabhai Patel on his birthday. During her visit, the Chief Minister awarded her a certificate of appreciation for the creation of the unique mehndi Ramayana. Mehndi Culture co-founders Himadri Sinha and Sarita Sinha were also present at the meeting. They were delighted and proud that the Chief Minister commended mehndi, a symbol of women empowerment, and mehndi art, and lauded the mehndi Ramayana’s inclusion in the Asia Book of Records,
