Vadodara : A political high drama unfolded in Gujarat as Ketan Inamdar, BJP MLA from Savli in Vadodara district tendered his resignation via email to the Gujarat Assembly speaker, only to withdraw it within hours following discussions with Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and BJP President CR Paatil. This whirlwind of events highlighted the internal dynamics and tensions within the state BJP amidst impending elections.

The political landscape of Gujarat witnessed a flurry of activity as Ketan Inamdar, the BJP MLA representing Savli constituency, found himself at the center of a dramatic turn of events. In a bold move, Inamdar submitted his resignation to the Gujarat Assembly speaker via email, setting off a chain reaction of high-level talks and negotiations within the party hierarchy.

Despite the unconventional method of resignation, Inamdar’s decision sent shockwaves through political circles, prompting urgent discussions among top BJP leaders. In a bid to address the brewing crisis, Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and BJP President CR Paatil immediately convened a meeting with Inamdar to ascertain the underlying reasons behind his resignation.

Following intense deliberations and assurances from party leaders, including BJP luminaries Pappu Pathak and Dharmendrasinh Jadeja, Inamdar made a U-turn on his resignation, opting to withdraw it in a dramatic reversal of fortunes. The resolution of the crisis was met with relief among party members, averting a potentially damaging rift within the ranks ahead of crucial elections.

In his media interactions, Inamdar elucidated his stance, emphasizing the importance of upholding the respect and dignity of old-time party members who have contributed significantly to the party’s legacy. While expressing his unwavering commitment to the BJP, Inamdar clarified that his resignation pertained solely to his role as an MLA, not his allegiance to the party.

Addressing speculations regarding his discontent with ticket distribution, Inamdar underscored his support for local MP Ranjanben Bhatt, affirming his dedication to ensuring her electoral victory. Despite his reservations about recent party decisions, Inamdar reiterated his belief in the BJP’s principles and expressed optimism about resolving internal disagreements amicably.

Inamdar’s resignation, albeit short-lived, shed light on simmering tensions within the party, particularly concerning the induction of new members and allocation of responsibilities. However, with the timely intervention of party leaders and the withdrawal of his resignation, the BJP seeks to maintain cohesion and unity as it braces for the electoral battle ahead.
