Gujarat : Amul Customer in Ahmedabad Finds Dead Ants in Milk Pouches, Seeks Compensation and Investigation
Alarmed by the discovery, the customer immediately visited the Amul Parlour where the purchase was made. However, they were allegedly told to lodge a complaint via email rather than through a direct phone call. Following these instructions, the customer emailed a complaint to Amul, detailing the presence of ants and expressing concerns about the safety of the milk, especially considering the presence of senior citizens and young children in the household.
Ahmedabad : A resident of Ahmedabad’s Kubernagar area, who wishes to remain anonymous, recently shared a disturbing experience involving Amul Gold milk. The individual purchased three pouches of the popular milk brand from a nearby Amul Parlour, but upon arriving home and pouring the milk into a pan, discovered a shocking sight: scores of dead ants floating in two of the pouches.
Disappointingly, as of today, the customer has not received any response from the company. This lack of response, coupled with the unaddressed concerns about the contaminated milk, prompted the individual to file a complaint with the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation’s health department.
Dr. Bhavin Joshi, the head of the corporation’s food department, confirmed receiving the complaint and stated that a food safety officer has been dispatched to investigate the matter.
This incident raises serious concerns about the quality control and customer service practices of Amul, a highly trusted brand. The presence of foreign objects like dead insects in a consumable product is a significant health hazard, and the company’s alleged delays in addressing the complaint and offering compensation are equally concerning.
As the investigation by the municipal corporation unfolds, it remains to be seen whether Amul will take responsibility for the incident, address the customer’s concerns appropriately, and implement necessary measures to ensure such incidents do not occur in the future.
