Ahmedabad : In a decisive move, the Ahmedabad session court in Gujarat on Friday rejected the bail plea of a school teacher implicated in the molestation of a 14-year-old student. The accused, seeking temporary bail for his upcoming engagement, faced a firm denial from Special Judge B.B. Jadav of the POSCO court.
The case came to light following a police complaint lodged by a ninth-grade student against 24-year-old Abhishek Pandya, alleging molestation. The victim’s statement detailed a harrowing account of being raped and molested thrice at her residence by the accused.
In a twist to the proceedings, Pandya claimed impotence, branding the accusations as baseless. His request for an impotence test, however, hit a roadblock when he withheld consent at Ahmedabad civil hospital.
District Public Prosecutor S.K. Vora presented a compelling argument, citing the discovery of semen on the victim’s undergarments and the absence of any counter-claim from the victim regarding the misidentification of the accused. These revelations played a pivotal role in the court’s decision to dismiss Pandya’s bail application, following the submission of the charge sheet.
