Ahmedabad : Under the Football for Schools (F4S) programme, the Federation Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) is making an ambitious step by distributing more than 10,000 footballs to students attending schools in the state of Gujarat.
It is the goal of this programme, which was established by the Department of School Education and Literacy, the All India Football Federation (AIFF), and FIFA, to make the beautiful game more accessible to the general public and to instill a love for football in the hearts of young people. It is anticipated that around 10,600 footballs will shortly be handed to schools located in 33 different districts, which will be a big step towards developing the sport at the grassroots level.
The distribution procedure got off on Wednesday at a number of Navodaya Vidyalaya Samitis (NVS) located all throughout the state of Gujarat. The Gujarat State Football Association (GSFA) will be the driving force behind this endeavour, and it will be responsible for managing and organising the distribution of funds via the numerous Navodaya Vidyalayas all around the state. During this significant event, members of the GSFA coming from a variety of districts will proudly represent the AIFF.
Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya was designated as the nodal organisation for the F4S programme as a result of an agreement that was signed in October 2022 by the Ministry of Education, the Association of Indian Football Federations (AIFF), and FIFA. This project is the outcome of a joint effort that was launched in October 2022.
When it comes to delivering footballs, the F4S programme goes above and above. The document depicts a future in which football is included into the educational system, making a significant contribution to the overall growth and development of students across the board. The program’s objective is to empower and educate about 700 million children all over the globe via the incorporation of football activities into the curriculum. Additionally, the programme seeks to promote gender equality on the field and build an inclusive environment.
A comprehensive and detailed explanation of the distribution procedure is provided by the programme, which guarantees that each football will arrive at its proper location. District football associations have been provided with a comprehensive minute-by-minute programme, which includes the addresses and contact information of Navodaya Vidyalayas that are participating in the event. Representatives from the GSFA and the AIFF will be present at distribution events, where they will emphasise the significance of bolstering football in the state and promoting active engagement.
