Gandhi Panorama showcased films on Mahatma Gandhi

Ahmedabad : Gandhi Panorama, a show of films made on Gandhi’s life and Gandhi’s principles was inaugurated in Ahmedabad on Monday.
Gandhi Panorama film festival is organized by Mumbai based company Indian Infotainment Media Corporation (iiMC) throughout India. The show on Monday was sponsored by the Youth, Sports and Culture Department of the Government of Gujarat.
Out of about 40 films from all over the world in Gandhi Panorama, a few films were shown in Monday’s screening, prominent among which are – ‘Bapu Ne Kaha Tha’, ‘Making of Mahatma’, Mahatma Gandhi, Ham Apni Gandgi Saaf Nahi Karenge To Kaun Karega, Aparigraha, Cup of Tea, Azaad, Ahimsa, etc.
Hundreds of children and college students from various schools and colleges of Ahmedabad watched, appreciated and learnt lessons from these films of Gandhi Panorama. The program was a super hit as expected, after every short film the students clapped and enjoyed a lot. We were thinking that perhaps Gandhiji has become irrelevant in today’s fast paced life, but we are proved wrong.
Devendra Khandelwal, chairman of Gandhi Panorama said that when Gandhi Panorama was conceptualized twelve-fifteen years ago, the focus was on showing Gandhi’s life and principles to today’s young generation which is forgetting Gandhi, so that they can understand the meaning of Indian culture and life and avoid being misled.
“Our previous Gandhi Panorama Film Festivals have been inaugurated by Draupadi Murmu, President of India, Nitish Kumar, Chief Ministers of Bihar, Governors of Assam and Madhya Pradesh and many Ministers and Gandhian thinkers.
This Gandhi Panorama of Ahmedabad was inaugurated by Pratibha Ben Jain, Mayor Ahmedabad. Chief Guests were Gandhian thinker Prakashi Shah and well known Gandhian social worker Mandaben Parekh. All the chief guests were welcomed by garlanding them with cotton thread. Also, the Chairman of the festival Devendra Khandelwal presented a special memento of Gandhi Ji statue, made by the well-known sculptor Nilesh Sonawane.
