New Delhi : “The intensity of the epidemic did not dampen the team’s resolve. She explains, “We shot with all Covid protocols in locations across the country, across seasons, at different altitudes, and in varying degrees of weather.”

She continues, “My group and I were given a huge assignment. many eras, a large cast, including fan-favorites in key roles, a gap in continuity since the previous film, two nations, many armies, and hundreds of outfits. The film’s time setting is the Punjab and Pakistan in the late 1960s and early 1970s, complete with an abundance of details on army outfits. When writing a narrative set in a certain time and place, even if it is fiction, there is no room for mistake. Particularly when that job includes portraying countries, armies, or matters that arouse public passion. When asked, she gives to others.

With regards to her time spent working with Mr. Anil Sharma, she said, “I must acknowledge my director’s undaunted trust in my work and in giving me a free hand in bringing his vision to life, of course with his important assistance along the way. Mr. Anil Sharma sets a great example with his work ethic. He values the opinions of his core team members and encourages free flow of thought through encouraging open communication. He is also highly loud and enthusiastic about providing constructive criticism that helps others develop. He does not micromanage his team leaders and allows them to explore their method and express themselves after he has gained their confidence. His boundless enthusiasm on set inspired everyone to perform at their highest level.

She continues, “I must also mention the enormous contribution of Col. Surender Singh of the Indian Army, for his invaluable contribution to the research and reproduction of vintage army uniforms for both India and Pakistan, which would not have been possible at all without his involvement and insights on the details, among other things. There is a severe lack of information, both written and visual, available to us as civilians with regards to military equipment. His input ensured that all aspects of the film’s study on the army, including uniforms, were spot-on. As a group, we appreciate all the time and effort he has put into sharing his expertise with us.

Gadar 2 stars Sunny Deol and Amisha Patel and is the sequel to the massively successful Gadar – Ek prem katha from 2002, which was reportedly the highest-grossing picture of the century at the time. “and to be a core crew to the sequel of such a legendary film was a very special feeling,” Nidhi adds. Nidhi’s costuming firm, TNYS (The NY Studio), has worked on a number of high-profile national and international productions, such as a Wong Kar Wai film and Xuan Zang, China’s official Oscar submission for 2016.

She also runs a high-end fashion line under her own name, which she exports internationally, presents at the most prestigious fashion weeks in the country, and sells at the most exclusive boutiques.
