INDORE, India: While building PoloTribe, Samarth’s intention was never to create yet another clothing brand. Instead, he saw an opportunity in solving the problem which he has noticed in the Indian menswear market.

Consumers looking for premium polo T-shirts in India found their options between cheap domestic brands and expensive foreign ones. The former offered affordability and latter – premium fabric, excellent fit, and classic design. Samarth was sure that there is space for a middle ground solution, offering premium fabrics, fit, and designs but without the high price because of the imports.

Launched in July 2024 and entering commercial production in December 2024, PoloTribe is a bootstrapped clothing brand, meaning that no external capital was used for its establishment. This Indian-based company strives to offer international quality fabrics, excellent fits and thoughtful apparel designs at affordable prices for the Indian consumer.

“In our journey we’ve never strived for the hype,” says Samarth. “We wanted to show people that premium quality doesn’t necessarily mean imported price.”

PoloTribe has created a diverse manufacturing facility network in cities like Tirupur, Ludhiana, Noida, and Jaipur, while using selected fabrics from Bangkok and Vietnam. Thanks to its lean supply chain, the company is able to deliver premium-quality products at competitive prices. The brand’s product portfolio has also grown through carefully chosen collections of clothing items – Prima, World Wardrobe, Nova, Opus, Ventus, and Quiet Escape – tailored for work, travelling, leisure, and everyday use by men and women.

One of PoloTribe’s biggest accomplishments was the achievement of zero return rates despite fulfilling orders all over India. In the fashion industry, where a substantial amount of revenue is spent on handling returns, this accomplishment shows how much PoloTribe cares about the quality, size, and satisfaction of their customers.

In addition to its aggressive marketing efforts, such as performance marketing and paid advertising, PoloTribe has also seen substantial organic growth due to referrals, influencers, and authentic user-generated content. Samarth thinks that marketing attracts customers to the brand, while product quality and customer experience retain them.

The above approach goes beyond the product itself. Unlike many companies that depend purely on customer care teams to get feedback, Samarth engages the customers directly to get insight about how they experience the product. Through these engagements, the company has been able to refine its product line and build trust with a community of regular customers.

While PoloTribe can be viewed as a brand of clothing, it stands for a lot more than just that. The company does not aim at making trendy pieces but rather those that will endure the test of time and remain fashionable after several years.

Currently, PoloTribe serves professionals, entrepreneurs, golfers, polo players, and fashion enthusiasts aged between 22 to 40 years old. As it seeks to expand in the area of travel and lifestyle wear, Samarth is determined to establish an Indian fashion brand that will prove that great quality apparel does not necessarily have to come with an expensive import price tag.

This is just the beginning for the young entrepreneur. He believes that sustainable success depends on listening to customers, consistency, investment in the brand and great products.
