Four killed in blast at Detox India in Ankleshwar GIDC 

Ankleshwar  : Ankleshwar, known for its bustling industrial estate, witnessed a tragic incident on Tuesdeay afternoon when a massive explosion at Detox India Company claimed the lives of four workers and left several others injured. The blast occurred in the M.E. Plant of the company, reportedly caused by the bursting of a steam pressure pipe.

The deceased have been identified as Yogesh Ram, Mukesh Singh, Harinath Yadav, and one Ashok.

Detox India, located within the Ankleshwar GIDC area, specializes in industrial waste disposal. The explosion sent shockwaves through the facility, leading to panic among workers and the surrounding community. Eyewitnesses reported a loud bang followed by thick smoke billowing from the plant, prompting immediate action from emergency responders.

Firefighters, along with the Safety and Health Department, were quick to respond to the scene. Police convoys also arrived shortly after to assist with the situation and control the large crowd that had gathered outside the plant. Rescue operations were carried out to assist the injured and prevent further casualties.

Authorities are currently investigating the incident, focusing on the condition of the steam pressure pipe and overall safety measures at the facility. Preliminary reports suggest that the explosion may have been caused by a failure in the plant’s pressure management system.

The tragic loss of life has left the local community in Ankleshwar in mourning. Crowds gathered outside the plant to get updates on the situation as emergency teams worked tirelessly to secure the site and provide aid to those affected.

An official from the Safety and Health Department stated, “We are conducting a thorough investigation to determine the exact cause of the explosion. Companies operating in high-risk industries need to prioritize safety protocols to avoid such tragic accidents.”

Industrial accidents are not uncommon in Ankleshwar GIDC, which is home to numerous chemical and manufacturing units.
