FOGWA Launches ‘Vibrant Textiles Expo-2023’ in Dubai To Boost Surat Textile Industry

Surat : Dubai’s Sharjah Expo Center witnessed the grand inauguration of the three-day debut textile exhibition, ‘Vibrant Textile Expo-2023,’ organised by the Surat-based Federation of Gujarat Weaver Welfare Association (FOGWA) on November 28.

The event was inaugurated by His Excellency Waleed Abdul Rahman Bukhatir, Second Vice Chairman of the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, in the presence of Ramesh Vaghasia, President of the Southern Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SGCCI), and SGCCI’s Honorary Secretary, Nikhil Madrasi.

Vaghasia, reflecting on SGCCI’s previous initiatives, highlighted their prior success in organizing textile exhibitions in Dubai, aimed at providing Surat’s thriving textile industry with a global platform. The positive response received from Dubai’s local buyers during these exhibitions laid the groundwork for anticipation surrounding the ‘Vibrant Textile Expo-2023,’ exclusively organized in Dubai by FOGWA.

This milestone exhibition serves as an unparalleled opportunity for textile entrepreneurs from Surat to showcase their products on an international stage and directly engage with global buyers in Dubai, marking FOGWA’s first endeavor in organizing such a significant international textiles exhibition in the city.

Ashok Jirawala, President of FOGWA, articulated their paramount objective: “Our aim is to propel fabric exports from Surat and India.” The three-day exhibition is poised to provide manufacturers in Surat with a crucial platform to establish connections with international buyers, fostering and expanding their global trade networks.
