In an era where healthcare is booming and skilled professionals are in growing demand, a young Bihar education professional is striving to connect the dots on healthcare awareness, training, and career. With numerous awareness campaigns, CPR training sessions, and career counselling programs conducted across the region, Aman Kumar, the Director of GD Goenka Healthcare Academy, Darbhanga, has become a prominent figure in healthcare education and skill development among the youth. Aman Kumar has a broad range of experience across the sectors of education, banking, and skill development and has always worked on the development of opportunities for students and also promoted public health awareness. With his guidance, GD Goenka Healthcare Academy’s efforts have transcended the classroom, reaching out to students and communities. Aman Kumar is an MBA graduate of Noida International University and an alumnus of The Scindia School, Gwalior, and has professional experience of 2 years in corporate banking operations, followed by another 16 years in the education sector. He has worked with the corporate arm of Axis Bank and also for student counselling and admissions at BYJU’S. These various experiences gave him a healthy perspective on youth aspirations, skill development, and career planning. As the Director of GD Goenka Healthcare Academy, he is currently guiding the academic administration, healthcare education programs, institutional collaborations, and outreach activities for the students to equip them for a career in healthcare.

His greatest legacy is raising awareness of emergency healthcare response. Knowing the basics of life-saving skills like CPR is still not widespread among most students and young adults of the academy so the academy initiated a series of awareness and training sessions in Darbhanga. In late 2025, various Health Awareness Talks and CPR Programs were conducted at coaching institutes and educational centres such as All In One Coaching Centre, Concept of Physics, Thakur Sir Mathematics Class, Cyber English Classes, and SK Physics. The sessions were centered around raising awareness among students regarding preventive healthcare, emergency response, and the need for timely medical intervention. The academy also offered specific Basic Life Support (BLS) and CPR training courses, offering hands-on knowledge of the emergency medical procedures. In recent years, when it comes to saving lives during critical moments, healthcare professionals have been emphasizing the importance of first-response skills, and such efforts are gaining more significance. In addition to awareness of health, Aman Kumar has given special focus on Career Counselling. He has championed skill-based health care education as a viable career and path to growth, as thousands of learners explore other career paths beyond the traditional academic trajectory. With his leadership, GD Goenka Healthcare Academy has created programs that have classroom learning integrated with practical exposure. The students attend seminars, workshops, project based learning and hostel internship which provide them with actual experience. The academy has also partnered with institutions such as Paras Hospital, Darbhanga, where students gain real-world experience in hospital settings and learn about the intricacies of healthcare management. The institution has formed associations with reputed education and professional institutions. They range from GD Goenka University, Mangalayatan University, Medhavi Skills University, Indian Medical Association (IMA), and National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC). The partnerships are designed to enhance the quality of healthcare education and students’ exposure to the industry. Others say that one of Aman Kumar’s specialties has been his work in the community. He has conducted awareness programmes on health, welfare programmes on under-privileged groups, support programmes for visually impaired people and educational guidance programmes in Bihar apart from activities of education. His work hasn’t been forgotten. GD Goenka Healthcare Academy in 2025 was awarded the Emerging Academy Award for its significant role in the healthcare education and skill development field. The academy’s efforts have also been covered by the media as a youth empowerment and healthcare awareness. More and more, education experts feel that schools that specialize in skills and health education will be more and more important in the future workforce of India. The demand for skilled paramedical and allied health care workers remains high as the country works towards improving the health care infrastructure.
