New Delhi : On the occasion of Dr. Ambedkar’s birth anniversary, hundreds of events were held all throughout the country. The 132nd anniversary of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar’s birth was celebrated on Sunday at India Club Dubai, with Chief Guest MP Chirag Paswan and JNU leader Uma Shankar Singh in attendance.

Sunil Chaudhary, general secretary of the BJP, and Guru Prakash Paswan, national spokesperson of the BJP, were both scheduled to attend but were unable to do so for personal reasons; however, they participated in the programme through video conference and gave speeches.

Speaking as the event’s chief guest, Member of Parliament Chirag Paswan praised Baba Saheb for his “wonderful thoughts” in his address. We still haven’t figured out how to put Babasaheb’s ideas into action, and the fact that the poor and underprivileged persist so many years after independence is evidence of that. We must put Babasaheb’s ideas into action and share them with the world. Ambedkar Global.com and its organiser, Ravi Chand, deserve praise for their hard work on this event.

In his speech, MP Chirag Paswan added, “Right now, the Bihari brothers returning from Dubai have to come via Delhi, Mumbai, or any big city. But I will soon talk to the concerned authorities and arrange a direct flight from Dubai to Bihar.”

Indian national (of Bihari ancestry) Ravi Chand is the man behind the worldwide organisation of this gathering. Ravi Chand has been helping out the Bihari community in Dubai for quite some time now. It’s admirable that chartered aeroplanes were arranged to return the Bihari people to their homes after they helped so much during the lockdown. It’s important to remember that out of the roughly 2.7 million Indians working in the UAE, 2 million are merely labourers who come from the lower regions of India. Ravi Chand said that Dr. Ambedkar’s worldview does not pertain to any particular group within Indian society, but rather to all groups equally.

According to the plan, the neighbourhood where the Bihari workers in Dubai live should be called Ambedkar Nagar, and a monument and rods honouring Baba Saheb Ambedkar would be placed there in the same manner that Nelson Mandela’s have been placed all over the world, including in India. Everyone in India should follow Baba Saheb’s lead. Our mission is to disseminate Babasaheb’s ideas to the entire globe, and the Ambedkar Global Organisation is now developing a curriculum to introduce Dr. Ambedkar’s writings and ideas to students at educational institutions around the world.
