Colombo : Dr. Ravul Jindal, a world-renowned expert in vascular surgery, recently visited Sri Lanka and made important advancements in the area while he was there. Over a hundred physicians from the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) nations attended the conference where he spoke on venous malformations, assessment, and therapy, as well as the newest advances in controlling varicose veins. At the conclusion of the conference, Dr. Jindal joined his respected peers from Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Nepal, and India in founding the SAARC Society of Vascular Surgery.

Dr. Ravul Jindal presented talks and performed live demonstrations during the symposium, demonstrating his extensive knowledge of vascular surgery. Thirty vascular surgeons from Sri Lanka attended his intensive session on laser therapy for varicose veins. Dr. Jindal spent an hour lecturing patients before the operation on the ins and outs of laser therapy. Live demonstrations included tumescent anaesthetic procedures, laser ablation done under local anaesthesia, and ultrasound examination of varicose veins. The attending surgeons were given a wealth of information and practical experience via these hands-on courses.

Dr Malenda of Sri Lanka, the new president, Dr Shantanu Ghosh of Bangladesh, Dr Sandeep Pandey of Nepal, and Dr Shri Kumar of India are just a few of the other luminaries in the field of vascular surgery with whom Dr Jindal has collaborated as a co-founder.

The discipline of vascular surgery was advanced significantly within the SAARC region thanks to Dr Ravul Jindal’s visit to Sri Lanka and his lectures on venous malformations and the newest therapies for varicose veins. The goal of establishing the SAARC Society of Vascular Surgery is to facilitate communication, cooperation, and the dissemination of best practises within the field of vascular surgery. The live session led by Dr. Jindal gave surgeons the chance to learn new techniques and improve their practise. There is little question that with to his dedication to advancing vascular surgery and his essential contributions to the SAARC Society, patient outcomes will improve and vascular healthcare will develop across the region.
