He has made significant contributions to medicine and has won numerous awards for his efforts on a national and international scale. A native of Agartala, Tripura, Dr. Omkar Prasad Baidya entered the world in 1984. He graduated from Shishu Bihar Higher Secondary School and then went on to pursue a career in medicine. He attended the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences in Imphal, Manipur, where he earned his MBBS in 2009 and his MD in 2012. In 2013, Dr Baidya decided to further his medical education by enrolling in the prestigious Post MD-PhD programme sponsored by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR). In 2019, he graduated with his Ph.D. from King George’s Medical University in Lucknow.

Dr. Baidya is also widely regarded as a prolific writer whose works cover topics as diverse as ethics, international relations, and the existence of God. In his book “Morality Beyond the Human Brain: Scientific and Philosophical Exploration,” he presents a new theory of morality, one that places greater weight on the value of intrinsic morality for human survival. Extrinsic morality, according to Dr. Baidya, is something that can be taught, as can moral philosophy and human values. In “A Path to World Peace,” he emphasises the importance of human virtues and argues that only a universal religion can bring about world peace. In his second book on ethics, Dr. Baidya argues that all living cells possess an innate morality that is essential to their continued existence.

Dr. Baidya has received numerous national and international awards and recognitions for his outstanding contributions to healthcare, education, and philanthropy. He has been honored with several prestigious awards, including the Dr. BR Ambedkar National Award, Bharat Sree Award, Mahatma Gandhi Nobel Peace Award, and Nelson Mandela Nobel Peace Award, among others.
