Congress Leader Alleges Forgery and Conspiracy in Surat Lok Sabha Nomination Process
Ashok Pimple condemned the Surat Lok Sabha election officer Dr. Saurabh Parghi's decision to disqualify the Congress candidate, alleging a fabricated process
SURAT,GUJARAT : Senior Congress leader Ashok Pimple has taken a decisive step by urging the Surat Police Commissioner to initiate a complaint against three proposers of Congress candidate Nilesh Kumbhani on the Surat Lok Sabha seat, along with district collector Dr. Saurabh Parghi, accusing them of forgery and tarnishing the reputation of the Congress party.
In a comprehensive 12-page complaint submitted to the Surat police commissioner, Ashok Pimple detailed how three proposers—Ramesh Polra, Jagdish Savaliya, and Dhruvin Dhameliya—colluded to orchestrate the disqualification of Nilesh Kumbhani’s nomination form under the guise of a wider conspiracy.
Pimple emphasized the necessity for registering a complaint under sections 463, 464, 465, 467, 468, 469, 471, and 34, 114, 120(b) of the Indian Penal Code against the three proposers and Surat collector Dr. Saurabh Parghi for their alleged involvement in forgery and defaming the Congress party.
The proposers allegedly submitted counterfeit affidavits to the Surat district collector, falsely claiming that the signatures on Nilesh Kumbhani’s proposer forms were forged. However, handwriting experts have purportedly confirmed that the proposers themselves signed the documents and affidavits in support of the Congress candidate.
Furthermore, all three proposers obtained certificates from their respective taluka officers confirming their inclusion in the electoral rolls. They reportedly appeared in person at the deputy collector’s office of Olpad prant to collect their voter certificates, subsequently signing the documents in front of government staff and the deputy collector.
Ashok Pimple condemned the Surat election officer Dr. Saurabh Parghi’s decision to disqualify the Congress candidate, alleging a fabricated process and a larger conspiracy at play. He emphasized that while political parties require only one proposer during the nomination filing process, independent candidates must secure support from ten proposers. Pimple asserted that the actions taken against the Congress candidate were unjust and motivated by ulterior motives.
“Any political party requires only one proposer during the election nomination filing process. The independent candidates have to seek support from 10 proposers. However, the entire process of disqualifying the Congress candidate by Surat election officer Dr. Saurabh Parghi is concocted and there is a bigger conspiracy at play” said Congress leader Ashok Pimple”
In response to these allegations, the Surat Police Commissioner’s office has confirmed the receipt of Ashok Pimple’s complaint and assured that appropriate action will be taken following a thorough investigation.
