Gandhinagar : The Central Government has given its nod for financial aid to two states reeling from natural disasters, allocating Rs. 338.24 crore to Gujarat, severely affected by Cyclone Biparjoy, and an additional Rs. 633.73 crore to Himachal Pradesh, which faced widespread destruction due to floods, cloudbursts, and landslides during this year’s southwest monsoon.

Gujarat Government stated that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s leadership was pivotal in facilitating advanced preparations in Gujarat, leading to an impressive zero casualty rate despite the devastation caused by Cyclone Biparjoy.

The Ministry of Home Affairs, under PM Modi’s guidance, promptly deployed the Inter-Ministerial Central Team (IMCT) to assess damages, bypassing the need for a Memorandum from the State Government. Earlier, the Central Government had disbursed the initial tranche of Rs. 584 crore from the State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF).
