Vadodara : The Vadodara BJP is experiencing a surge of enthusiasm following the announcement of Dr. Hemang Joshi as the party’s candidate for the Vadodara Lok Sabha seat. This decision marks a significant shift, especially considering the contention surrounding the candidacy of the incumbent MP, Dr. Ranjanben Bhatt. The rift within the party, exemplified by public opposition from longstanding members such as Dr. Jyoti Pandya, led to drastic measures, including Dr. Pandya’s suspension from the party for six years.

The announcement of Dr. Hemang Joshi as the new face of the BJP in Vadodara has injected a sense of jubilation within the party’s local organization. The atmosphere outside the BJP office was electrified as firecrackers illuminated the night sky in celebration. Dr. Joshi wasted no time in seeking blessings from Vadodara City President, Dr. Vijay Shah, displaying humility and reverence for party leadership.

Amidst the turmoil, the drama surrounding the resignation of BJP’s Savli MLA, Ketan Inamdar, fueled speculation about Dr. Ranjanben Bhatt’s candidacy. However, in a surprising turn of events, Dr. Bhatt expressed her desire not to contest for personal reasons. This pivotal decision paved the way for the introduction of a fresh contender within a remarkably short span of 36 hours.

Political analysts have noted that Dr. Ranjanben Bhatt’s nomination for a third consecutive term was met with skepticism from the top echelons of the RSS. Her perceived discord with RSS leadership, coupled with the dissatisfaction among dedicated party workers like Dr. Jyoti Pandya, former mayor of Vadodara, created tensions within the party ranks.

In response to his nomination, Dr. Hemang Joshi expressed gratitude for the unwavering support of prominent leaders including Prime Minister Modi, J.P. Nadda, Amit Shah, Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, C.R. Patil, and the tireless efforts of party workers in Vadodara. Dr. Joshi emphasized Prime Minister Modi’s longstanding association with Vadodara, dating back to his days with the RSS, asserting that the people of Vadodara share a deep connection with the Prime Minister.

“The emergence of Dr. Hemang Joshi as the BJP’s candidate for the Vadodara Lok Sabha seat signals a new chapter in the party’s journey in the region” said a political analyst. “ With renewed vigor and unity, the Vadodara BJP stands poised to navigate the complexities of the upcoming election, fueled by the collective determination to uphold the party’s values and serve the interests of the people of Vadodara” he added.
