Bharat Diamond Bourse Celebrates 41 Years of Legacy and 15 Years at BKC

Mumbai | Maharashtra — The Bharat Diamond Bourse (BDB), the world’s largest diamond trading exchange, has achieved a remarkable dual milestone — 41 years since its incorporation and 15 years of successful operations at its iconic Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) premises since October 17, 2010.

To commemorate this achievement, the Department of Posts, Government of India, released a special BDB Postal Stamp, honouring the Bourse’s outstanding contribution to India’s diamond industry and its global trade excellence. The ceremonial release was graced by Ashish Shelar, Cabinet Minister of Information Technology & Cultural Affairs, Poonam Mahajan, Former MP of Mumbai North Central, Amitabh Singh, Chief Postmaster General (Maharashtra & Goa Circle), and Dnyaneshwar B Patil, IAS Zonal Development Commissioner, SEEPZ.

The event also saw the presence of Anoop Mehta, President, BDB; Mehul Shah, Vice President, BDB; Bharat Shah, President, MDMA; and Kirit Bhansali, Chairman, GJEPC.

Founded in 1984 with a vision to create a world-class hub for diamond trade, the Bharat Diamond Bourse today houses over 3,000 offices and facilitates seamless trading for more than 5,250 members. It has become the heartbeat of the global diamond industry, reinforcing India’s leadership as the largest diamond manufacturing and exchange hub in the world.
