Ahmedabad Sub-Inspector Found Dead in Sabarmati River After Disappearance
Jaideep Patel, 29, a resident of Navjeevan Apartments in Paldi area of Ahmedabad had gone missing since Tuesday night.
Ahmedabad : The fire brigade personnel fished out a body of the sub-inspector employed with the estate department of the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) from the Sabarmati River in Ahmedabad on Wednesday morning.
Jaideep Patel, 29, a resident of Navjeevan Apartments in Paldi area of Ahmedabad had gone missing since Tuesday night.
The fire brigade retrieved Patel’s body from the river after a missing complaint was filed by his family on late Tuesday night. The Sabarmati Riverfront West Police, who were also informed about the incident, reached the spot and begun their investigation.
Patel, originally from Navsari, worked in the estate department of the AMC’s Bodakdev Ward as a Sub-Inspector. According to reports, his family and friends reported him missing on social media and to the police on Tuesday. A crucial lead emerged when Patel’s bike was found abandoned near the Sabarmati Riverfront Sports complex, raising suspicions of suicide by drowning.
The cause behind Patel’s apparent suicide remains unclear. The police are currently investigating the case and speaking to Patel’s family and colleagues to determine the circumstances surrounding his disappearance and possible motives.
This incident has come as a shock to the AMC community. Patel’s colleagues have described him as a dedicated and hardworking employee. His sudden demise has left a void in the department.
