Ahmedabad : Gautam Adani, chairman of the Adani Group, announced a massive investment of Rs 2 lakh crore (USD 25 billion) in Gujarat over the next five years, promising to create over 100,000 direct and indirect jobs in the state. The announcement came during his address at the inaugural Vibrant Gujarat Summit 2024, held at Mahatma Mandir in Gandhinagar.

Adani’s ambitious plans for Gujarat include the construction of the world’s largest green energy park in Khavda, Kutch. This mammoth project, spanning 725 square kilometers, will generate 30 GW of renewable energy and will be visible even from space. The park will be a key component of Adani’s vision for an “Atmanirbhar” (self-reliant) India, creating a green supply chain that includes solar panels, wind turbines, hydrogen electrolyzers, green ammonia, PVC, and expansions in copper and cement production.

“Over the next five years, the Adani Group will invest over Rs. two lakh crore in Gujarat – that is USD 25 billion – thereby creating over 100,000 direct and indirect jobs,” Adani declared. This significant investment is expected to boost Gujarat’s economy and create new opportunities for its citizens.

Adani also took the opportunity to praise Prime Minister Narendra Modi, stating, “You don’t just predict the future; you shape it. You have reoriented India to become the world’s fastest-growing nation, and positioned her as the global social champion driven by the twin philosophies of Vasudeva Kutumbakam (the world is one family) and Vishwa Guru (spiritual teacher of the world).”

The Vibrant Gujarat Summit is a biennial event that aims to attract investments and promote economic development in the state. This year’s summit is particularly significant as Gujarat seeks to solidify its position as a leader in renewable energy and sustainable development.
