Surat | Gujarat — Taking a firm step towards sustainability and environmental preservation, the Adani Foundation has launched a large-scale tree plantation campaign across Hazira and Umarpada, reinforcing its commitment to a “Green Revolution” under its ongoing Climate Action Initiative. The project not only focuses on planting trees but also on nurturing and managing them to ensure long-term ecological impact.

Under this ambitious initiative, 10,000 trees are being planted and maintained across multiple locations. In Rajgari village of Hazira, 5,000 trees have already been planted using the innovative Miyawaki method, which allows for dense plantation in small areas and results in the creation of mini-forests within just three to four years. Each plant is supported by drip irrigation systems and secure fencing, ensuring sustainable growth and ecosystem restoration.

“This is not just a plantation drive—it’s a promise to the future,” said a spokesperson from the Adani Foundation. “Our goal is to improve local biodiversity, enhance the microclimate, and instil an environmental consciousness that inspires future generations.”

In Umarpada taluka, the Foundation has extended its green initiative to ashram schools, blending education with environmental stewardship. 3,185 trees were planted at Bilwan Ashram School and 2,030 trees at Umarda Ashram School, with continuous monitoring and drip irrigation facilities ensuring their healthy growth.

According to the Foundation, the campaign aims to foster an emotional connection between students and nature, nurturing young eco-ambassadors who will carry forward the legacy of sustainability.

“The Adani Foundation believes in growing with responsibility — in harmony with nature and with a focus on long-term ecological balance,” said the spokesperson. “Our vision is to integrate environmental protection with social development so that communities thrive alongside nature.”

The Foundation’s sustained efforts towards climate resilience, biodiversity restoration, and sustainable community development reflect its broader philosophy: “Harmony with Nature, Responsibility with Progress.”
