Dahej | Gujarat — In a spirited celebration of self-reliance and sustainability, the Adani Foundation Dahej Diwali Mela gave a significant boost to women’s entrepreneurship and rural innovation. Organized at Adani Petronet, Dahej, the event served as a vibrant platform for women-led Self Help Groups (SHGs) and differently-abled artisans to showcase their handmade, eco-friendly products while promoting financial independence and inclusive growth.

Empowering Women Through Entrepreneurship

A total of eight SHGs supported by Adani Foundation participated in the mela, displaying their locally crafted products. The event was inaugurated by H.C. Hiramt, Head – Engineering Services, and Shri Indrajit Singh Wala, Head – Dry Cargo Department, in the presence of company employees, local citizens, and SHG members.

Women from surrounding villages, including Merali Sakhimandal (Hathakundi), Navsarjan Sakhimandal (Kavachia), Yahamogi Sakhimandal (Machmadi), Ekta Sakhimandal (Jolwa), Shivshakti Sakhimandal (Jageshwar), and Jay Devmogra Group (Hathakundi), actively participated. They showcased decorative lamps, handmade bags, sweets, woolen torans, bamboo art, Indrani rice, and designer dresses, all reflecting creativity rooted in tradition.

The fair received an overwhelming response from visitors, recording sales worth ₹45,260 in a single day—a strong indicator of growing interest in women-led rural enterprises.

Inspiring Inclusion and Self-Reliance

The mela also featured stalls by Divyang entrepreneurs Akshaybhai Rathod and Nayanaben Chavda, who displayed incense sticks and Warli art frames crafted by differently-abled individuals. Their work drew special appreciation, symbolizing equality, creativity, and inclusion—core values that the Adani Foundation Dahej Diwali Mela aims to foster.

Through this initiative, participants not only gained market exposure but also enhanced their confidence and business acumen. The Foundation continues to nurture such opportunities, enabling women and marginalized groups to achieve sustainable livelihoods and social empowerment.
