April 2026: In a rare and compelling crossover between literature and cinema, A Song for Eresha, the debut literary novel by award winning filmmaker AK Srikanth, is now available internationally alongside its feature film adaptation, also directed by Srikanth himself. This unique dual release marks a significant milestone not only in the creator’s journey but also in the evolving landscape of cross medium storytelling, where a single narrative finds expression across both page and screen under one unified vision.

The film version of A Song for Eresha premiered earlier this month in the United Kingdom and is currently streaming on Amazon Prime Video UK and Apple TV, with a wider international release scheduled in the coming weeks. The novel, which inspired the film, is now available across Europe and North America via Amazon and Kindle, with India pre-orders opening shortly, generating anticipation among readers who appreciate serious literary fiction.

Published in multiple formats including paperback, hardcover, eBook, and audiobook, A Song for Eresha marks a distinctive entry into contemporary literary fiction. The simultaneous release of the book and its cinematic adaptation offers audiences a rare opportunity to experience the same story through two different creative lenses, both shaped by the same artistic intent and emotional depth.

At its core, A Song for Eresha is a deeply reflective work of literary fiction, exploring themes of memory, identity, and emotional transformation. With a narrative style that is both intimate and evocative, the novel draws readers into a world defined by quiet tensions and profound inner shifts. The film adaptation extends this experience visually, translating the novel’s emotional landscape into a cinematic language that remains faithful to its literary origins while adding a new dimension of sensory storytelling.

Speaking about the dual release, AK Srikanth shared that stories often evolve in the mind before they take form and that this project allowed him to explore the same narrative both as a writer and as a filmmaker. Each medium revealed something different and deeper about the story, making the creative journey both challenging and rewarding.

Based in Coonoor, AK Srikanth has built a reputation as an award winning director with a strong inclination toward meaningful storytelling. His body of work includes thirteen short films such as Soul Cages 2024, Slow Rivers 2023, and Ghost of the Lighthouse 2023, each recognized for its nuanced storytelling and distinct visual sensibility. His creations consistently draw from Indian classical art, culture, and philosophical traditions, presenting them to a global audience in a way that feels both authentic and universally resonant.

The film adaptation of A Song for Eresha has already begun to attract attention for its restrained and atmospheric approach, with early viewers noting its contemplative pacing and visual elegance. These qualities closely mirror the tone of the novel, reinforcing the coherence that comes from having a single creator guiding both mediums. This level of unified authorship is rare and adds a layer of depth to the overall storytelling experience.

The release also highlights a growing trend in global storytelling where narratives are developed simultaneously across literature and cinema rather than being adapted from one form to another. In the case of A Song for Eresha, this parallel creation process allows audiences to engage with the story in complementary ways, enriching their understanding of its themes and emotional nuances.

With its international rollout already underway and an India release on the horizon, A Song for Eresha is positioned to reach a diverse and discerning audience. Readers and viewers alike are invited to immerse themselves in a story that exists both as text and as visual narrative, offering two distinct yet interconnected interpretations of a deeply personal creative vision.
