Official sources said that notorious Wali Halari and his men attacked a GST officer during the ongoing raid operation at his residence at Mahek Apartment in Bhavnagar on Thursday. The accused thrashed the GST officer with wooden sticks when they were performing their duty.
Halari, who is involved in the bogus billing racket, has come under the scanner of the GST and the Bhavnagar police. A team led by the assistant superintendent of police (ASP), Shafin Hasan, and the Neelambaug police station officials along with the GST officials conducted a search operation at Halari’s residence to find the evidence on the bogus billing racket on Friday.
