Vadodara: RSS Office-Bearer Accused of Assaulting Resident With Stick

VADODARA: A dispute over shifting electric poles at a residential society in Vadodara has turned violent, with an RSS office-bearer accused of striking a resident with a stick and threatening his wife. The incident, captured on a mobile phone, has gone viral on social media and raised questions about the conduct of those holding positions in public organisations.

The incident took place at Gangotri Tenement Society near Gotri-Kunal Crossroads in western Vadodara on Friday. The accused, Mansukh Jesadiya, is associated with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) as its Prant Seva Pramukh and has previously served as a Vibhag Karyavah.

Dispute Over Electric Poles Turns Violent

According to the complaint, electricity company officials visited the society to relocate electric poles. Residents were discussing the work and had agreed that the poles should be shifted only after all members gave their consent.

However, the discussion allegedly took a violent turn when Jesadiya became agitated. He allegedly attacked resident Vishal Vinubhai Talsaniya with a stick, repeatedly striking him during the altercation.

When Talsaniya’s wife intervened to protect her husband, the accused allegedly brandished the stick at her and tried to intimidate her.

Another society member recorded the incident on a mobile phone. The footage later circulated widely on social media, drawing attention to the alleged assault.

Victim Seeks Strict Action

Following the incident, Talsaniya approached Lakshmipura police station and submitted a written complaint seeking strict legal action against Jesadiya.

Police Inspector G.D. Rajput confirmed that a complaint had been registered in connection with the alleged assault.

“A complaint regarding the assault has been registered, and a search for the accused is underway,” Rajput said.

Attempts to contact Jesadiya for his response were unsuccessful.

Police Probe Underway

The incident has brought the society’s dispute into the public spotlight. The allegations against the RSS office-bearer are now under police scrutiny.

The viral footage may help investigators establish the sequence of events. Further action will depend on the police investigation and the evidence collected in the case.
