Ahmedabad (Gujarat) [India], September 14: National Award-winning director, producer, author, and entrepreneur Abhishek Jain, founder of CineMan Productions Limited, continues to redefine contemporary Indian storytelling across feature films, commercial advertising, and digital media platforms. Widely recognized as a pioneer behind the revival of modern Gujarati cinema, Jain’s career spans over 15 years of industry leadership, high-impact brand campaigns, national accolades, and film policy advocacy. After graduating from Whistling Woods International, Abhishek Jain honed his directorial craft in Mumbai under eminent filmmakers Subhash Ghai and Sanjay Leela Bhansali, contributing to major feature productions including Yuvvraaj (2008) and Guzaarish (2010). His foundational experience as a Radio Jockey for three years at Radio Mirchi 98.3 FM further shaped his instinct for audience engagement and narrative pace. Returning to Gujarat, Jain founded CineMan Productions Limited in 2010, directing and producing landmark urban films such as the cult hit Kevi Rite Jaish (2012), the blockbuster Bey Yaar (2014), the 64th National Film Award winner Wrong Side Raju (2016), and Maaran (2026), which secured the 72nd National Film Award for Best Gujarati Film as well as Best Fiction Feature Film at the 2024 Chicago South Asian Film Festival. Expanding into Hindi cinema and digital media, Jain directed the Bollywood comedy Hum Do Humaare Do (2021) starring Rajkummar Rao and Kriti Sanon, and the critically acclaimed web series Vitthal Teedi (2021) starring Pratik Gandhi. In 2015, he authored the book Aa Toh Just Vaat Chhe, outlining the business models, marketing strategies, and creative framework required to sustain regional film industries. Beyond feature films, Abhishek Jain has established a robust production infrastructure capable of delivering high-quality commercial content at scale. CineMan Productions has helmed over 300 brand films and TVCs across FMCG, real estate, finance, education, and lifestyle sectors. The banner’s commercial portfolio features collaborations with leading figures including Anupam Kher, Pratik Gandhi, and Shubman Gill, while servicing legacy corporate clients such as Adani Group, Zydus Lifesciences, Torrent Gas, Nirma University, and Fortune. To solve distribution challenges for regional content, Jain also co-founded OHO Gujarati, Gujarat’s first dedicated premium streaming platform, onboarding over 250 hours of original programming and bringing together a collective of 100 actors, 30 directors, and 20 writers.
A firm believer that cinema requires an institutional framework to thrive, Jain actively contributes to film policy, trade bodies, and international platforms. He has served as a distinguished jury member for the National Film Awards, the International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (International Emmy Awards), and India’s official Oscar selection committee. Additionally, he serves as a non-official member of the Steering Committee for the 57th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) 2026 and a jury member for the Bengaluru International Film Festival (BIFFes). His leadership roles include Chairman of the Entertainment and Media Task Force at the Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industries (GCCI), Board Member of the Screen writers Rights Association of India (SRAI), Board Member of the Gujarat Literature Festival (GLF), and Executive Committee Member of the PR Committee at the Ahmedabad Management Association (AMA), alongside representing regional cinema globally at the Festival de Cannes on the CISAC Panel. Through ongoing masterclasses, mentorship programs, and policy development, Jain continues to build sustainable talent pipelines and elevate regional narratives onto the global stage.
